For some reason Americans are extremely good at changing a word or an idea that was originally meant for something bad and making it into something more encouraging. So today I am going to introduce 4 words that are very commonly used among modern Americans today. Alright, let‘s get started!

1. Stinkin-Awesome

This is basically two words put together to create a new word and meaning. It has the meaning of being Awesome, but it is more than just awesome…it is “Stinkin-Awesome”! This word has nothing to do with anything that smells bad, but if I were to relate it to the idea of smelling something, you can imagine something being so awesome it even has the stench of awesome.

This word I’m sure is very familiar to most people. I believe there is a word for it in every language. Shut up is known as a word that is disrespectful and should not be used towards other people. Here, most girls (also some guys) use it in times of excitement. It’s almost as if the good news that they are hearing is so good they can’t take hearing it anymore.

This word is one of my favorites, but maybe not used as much for safety reasons. There have been many bombing situations all over the world these days, but this word explains how people are so great their awesomeness is like a bomb!

The last word I want to teach everyone is this word that in its naturally setting means illness or cold, but like most of the words here, it is another way to describe something that you may feel is awesome.
