这个句型是用来问某人想要什么的。其中would是情态动词，没有人称和数的变化。would like的意思是“想要”。愿意；愿意。和“好”、“want”对，但语气大不相同。
前者礼貌委婉,后者直接且随意。回答时用“I'd like…”。-What would you like to do after school? 放学后你想做什么?
-I'd like to buy some books.我想去买些书。

What kind of...would you like?”意为“你想要哪种……?”是口语中常用的句型,用来询问某人想要什么样的物品。其中,kind在此处用作可数名词,意为“种;种类”,它总是要借助介词of来修饰名词,若被修饰的名词是可数名词,kind可用复数形式。
What kind of books would you like? 你想要哪种书?

with the candy是介词短语作后置定语,修饰the child, 相当于一个定语从句 who has the candy。

句中it为形式主语,真正的主语是后面的动词不定式。

4. 区别a number of…和the number of…
a number of 意为“许多，大量”
the number of意为“......的数量”。
谓语动词形式不同。the number of 后面加可数名词复数，但是因为中心词是“数量”，也就是说我们的主语是“the number”，所以后面的谓语动词要用三人称单数形式。即：the number of + 可数名词复数 +三单谓语
The number of sick students is decreasing.生病学生的数量在减少
a number of后面的谓语动词要用复数形式。
公式：a number of + 可数名词复数 + 复数谓语
A number of foreigners come to China every year.每年有许多外国人来中国。
5. some 和any的区别
（1）. Use some in positive sentences: Use any in negative sentences:
some 用于肯定句，any用于否定句
I'm going to buy some clothes. I'm not going to buy any clothes.
There's some milk in the fridge. There isn't any milk in the fridge.
We made some mistakes. We didn't make any mistakes.
（2）. In most questions (but not all) we use any (not some).
在大多数问句中，我们用some不用any.
Is there any milk in the fridge?
Does he have any friends?
Do you need any help?
（3）. We normally use some (not any) when we offer things (Would you like ... ?):
在一些委婉请求中，我们用some
A: Would you like some coffee? B: Yes, please.
or when we ask for things (Can I have ... ? etc)
A: Can I have some soup, please? B: Yes. Help yourself
A: Can you lend me some money?
B: Sure. How much do you need?
（4）. some and any without a noun
I didn't take any pictures, but Jessica took some. (= some pictures)
You can have some coffee, but l don't want any. (= any coffee)
I've just made some coffee. Would you like some? (= some coffee)
Where's your luggage?' l don't have any' (= any luggage)
'Are there any biscuits?' Yes, there are some in the kitchen’(= some biscuits)
（5）. some 和any组成的复合不定代词
