a donkey is walking through the forest one day . he is feeling sad because the other animals always tease him。

有一天，一只驴子在树林里散步。

The Donkey keeps talking to himself while walking. Then he steps on something. He stops to look.

驴边走边自言自语。然后他踩上一团东西。他停下来细细观察。

Donkey: Oh my goodness! It's a Lion! Please don't kill me, Mr. Lion. My meat is no good. I will be your slave. Please! Please! Please! Just this once, don't kill me!

驴：噢，天哪！狮子先生，请不要杀我。我的肉不好吃。我会成为你的奴仆。拜托!拜托!拜托!就饶我这一次吧，不要杀了我！

The Donkey closes his eyes in fright and is shaking all over. But there is no answer from the Lion. The Donkey becomes curious and carefully opens his eyes.

驴子吓得闭上眼睛，浑身发抖。但是狮子没有吭声。驴很好奇，定睛一看。

Donkey: Hey, it's just a Lion's skin. Jeez! Thank goodness! But who left it here?

驴子：嗨，不过是张狮子皮。天啊！谢天谢地！谁把狮子皮放在这里的？

Donkey: It has a head, a body, legs, and a tail. It has everything. It even has paws and sharp teeth. It looks real. This is fantastic! I will try it on.

驴：有头，有身体，还有腿和一条尾巴。各个部位都齐全了。甚至有爪子和锋利的牙齿。看起来跟真的一样。太棒了！我一定要穿上试试。

The Donkey puts on the Lion's skin and goes to a nearby pond to look into the water.

驴子穿上狮子皮，到附近的池塘里照镜子。

Just then, a Rabbit comes to the pond to drink water. He sees the Donkey in the Lion's skin.

就在这时，一只兔子来池塘边喝水。他看到披着狮子皮的驴子。

Rabbit: Eeek!! It's a Lion! Run! Run! Run for your life!

兔子：咦！这是一只狮子！快跑！快跑！为了活命我得赶紧跑！

The Donkey sees the Rabbit run away. It looks very funny.

驴看到兔子逃跑了。觉得很有趣。

The Donkey is very excited. He puts on the Lion's skin and walks around the forest.

驴很兴奋。它穿着狮子皮，在森林里悠闲地散步。

The Donkey pats the Goat on the shoulder.

驴轻轻地拍了山羊的肩膀。

Goat: Yes, who is it? Ah... It's a Lion! Run everyone! A Lion is in our forest! Run! Run!

山羊：谁啊？啊……是狮子！大家快跑吧！狮子来了！快跑啊！快跑啊！

The Donkey is very satisfied. He wants to have more fun.

驴子很满意。他想捉弄更多人。

The Donkey goes around the forest all day long scaring all the animals there. Then he sees a Fox taking a nap under a tree.

驴子绕着森林一整天把所有的动物都吓跑了。然后他看到一只狐狸在树下打盹。

The Donkey sneezes on purpose.

驴故意打了个喷嚏。

The Fox opens his eyes.

狐狸张开了眼睛。

Fox: A Lion! Oh my goodness! Don't kill me, Mr. Lion! I will do anything for you. Please, don't kill me. Boo-hoo-hoo.

狐狸：狮子！哦，天哪！别杀我，狮子先生！我会为你做任何事的。请不要杀了我。呜呜。

The Donkey opens the Lion's mouth. The Fox sees the sharp teeth inside and runs away quickly.

驴张开了狮子的嘴。狐狸看到了锋利的牙齿后，迅速逃走了。

The Donkey fooled a lot of animals just by wearing the Lion's skin, but it is still not enough.

驴用狮子皮吓跑了很多动物，但它仍然不满足。

Donkey: This is getting boring. How can I make them more scared? Ah ha! I get it! I'll roar like a Lion!

驴：越来越无聊。我怎么才能让他们更害怕？啊哈！我知道了！我要像狮子一样吼叫！

The Donkey tries to roar like a Lion, but it doesn't sound right. But, the Donkey thinks it sounds like a Lion's roar.

驴试着像狮子一样吼叫，但是它的声音完全不像。然而驴觉得自己的声音很像狮子的吼叫。

The Rabbit, Goat, Pig, and Fox appear. They are talking about the Lion.

兔子、山羊、猪和狐狸都出现了。他们在谈论狮子。

Rabbit: Hey, there comes the Lion again! Let's run away! Run!

兔子：嘿，狮子又来了！咱们赶紧逃跑吧！快跑！

Just as the animals are about to run away, the Donkey roars.

就在动物们准备逃跑的时候，驴开始吼了起来。

Goat: That doesn't sound like a Lion's roar.

山羊：听起来不像是狮子的吼叫声。

Fox: I know! That's the Donkey's cry!

狐狸：我知道！那是驴的叫声！

Just then a strong wind blows, and Lion's skin blows off the Donkey.

就在这时，一个大风吹过来，狮子皮被吹掉了。

Rabbit: Look! It's the Donkey!

兔子：看！原来是驴！

Pig: He tricked us all! We were all fooled!

猪：他骗了我们所有人！我们都被它愚弄了！

All of the animals run after the Donkey and give him a hard kick. The Donkey regrets wearing the Lion's skin.

所有的动物都在追赶着驴，每个动物都踢了它一脚。驴现在很后悔披上了狮子皮。

MORAL: Don't make a fool of yourself by pretending to be someone else.

寓言：有些人看起来神气十足，一表人材，然而一开口就原形毕露了。
