The two lovers were separated on two ends of the Milky Way. Every year, only on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, they can get together by the magpies bridge. To extol the sad and beautiful love between Cowherd and Weaver, later generations make the seventh day of the seventh lunar month the Chinese Valentine's Day.
